Mirage Machines, an Acteon company, has won a prestigious regional award in the EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards.
Mirage Machines, which designs and manufactures portable machine tools from its Derby headquarters, won the Outstanding Export Award, sponsored by Dunedin, the UK mid-market private equity house at the awards luncheon on Thursday 5 February 2015.
The award celebrates the achievements of manufacturers that have developed and implemented a successful new export strategy.
The company was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and was up against stiff competition from a range of businesses, small and large, from across the Midlands.

Mirage Machines will now go on to find out if it has won the national title at an awards gala dinner in London in April.
Richard Silk, Managing Director at Mirage Machines, says: “This award is testament to our team’s hard work and we are absolutely delighted to have won.
“It has put us on the map as a dynamic and innovative company, while recognising the valuable contribution made by local manufacturers. As a growing company of 45 staff, we are pleased to be recognised for our ventures into foreign markets.
“It’s great to get this far and now we’re looking forward to finding out how we get on in the national awards in April.”
