Mirage's machines are used within the wind power industry in the production of wind towers and rotor blades to decrease the machining time required on the tower flange and blade root ends. Our orbital milling machine was developed for Europe's largest wind turbine manufacturer to enable their blade facilities to face the root end mounting flange of the blade to within 0.10mm (0.004") in a total machining time of less than 1 hour.

From the experience gained on the blade machining we developed the range further to allow tower production facilities to machine the mating flanges of the tower fabrications but specifically the top mounting flange where they typically have a required tolerance of 0.10mm - 0.20mm depending on diameter. We now have machines operating in a production environment globally.
