Mirage has a team of dedicated time served engineers with experience in building machine tools of all types. If your machinery requires servicing or complete refurbishment we can reverse engineer a solution for you, regardless of original manufacture or age.

Examples

Silk - AX630
A Silk AX630m was brought to us by a customer who wanted to retain the services of the machine in peak load shut down periods. Mirage Rebuilt main feed gearbox and drive, replacing main drive components with original manufacturers spare parts.

Roberts Brothers clam shell
A Roberts brothers clam shell pipe cutting machine was sent to Mirage to investigate the possibility of refurbishment and overhaul. The machine main bearing needed complete overhaul and the tool post systems were replaced with Mirage's own split frame tool post. This machine to date has been operating for a further 3 years with no further complaints.

Sir Meccanica WS3 line boring machine
When brought into Mirage the drive and feed of this machine had been totally destroyed, we set up a meeting with the client and decided the best course of action was to adapt our hydraulic LB3060 drive and feed mechanism to the original WS3 boring bars, tool posts and end supports and this resulted in a machine that is now prepared for more arduous conditions than previously attempted.

Silk - AX1445
A customer brought in an AX1445 for refurbishment after heavy use overseas. The main drive and some gearbox parts were replaced and the machine was operational after only 10 days in our factory.

These are just a few of the examples of many cases where we have been able to reverse engineer solutions to extend the life of third party machine tools for our existing customers to help them maintain their service to their clients.
